My name is Claire, I manage the People Team, here at Groundwork Greater Nottingham, which includes; Community and Education, Youth and Play, and Local Food. Before my role with groundwork I spent over ten years delivering and managing various services which provided support to local people, including; employment, housing, homelessness young people’s services.
I am proud to be from Nottingham, and believe that we can work together to support vibrant, thriving communities which offer local people real opportunities, and which we can all be proud to be a part of.
I am Amy, and I am the Youth and Play team Co-ordinator. I have worked with Groundwork since 2011 after graduating from Nottingham Trent University where I completed a degree in Youth Studies.
I have been involved in youth work for a number of years through volunteering and being a rainbow and guide leader, and I enjoy helping people engage in fun and challenging activities. My main interests are around getting young people involved with their local community and supporting young people to have their voice heard in society.
My name is Charles, and I have been helping to deliver Youth & Play work for Groundwork for over three years. At university I studied Sociology, and in my career to date I have worked with young people in a variety of roles and settings.
I am committed to supporting young people to recognise and achieve their potential, and I have led many specialised projects which both support challenge young people, such as our Gun Gang and Knife crime projects. I believe that young people should be supported to identify and pursue positive life choices, and that as Youth and Play workers we should provide positive role models for them in doing so.
Hi I am Reuben, and I have been with Groundwork Greater Nottingham for ten years. I started working with Groundwork as a Young person on a youth programme ten years ago, and with the support and guidance of the Youth and Play team I was able to develop the skills to move from participant, to volunteer, to Youth and Play worker, and I am now pleased to be a Lead Youth and Play worker with the team.
I share many of the same experiences young people face today and know many of their challenges. I am passionate about working to help improve the life experiences of young people and hope I can help with this by sharing my knowledge.
I enjoy being able to support Young People in a wide range of activities, and my particular favourites are; film making and editing, boxing, kick boxing and basketball.
Hello my name is Daniel, I have over 10 years of experience in delivering play and youth work, working for many different organisations in that time, and providing activities in many diverse communities. I have been Youth and Play worker for Groundwork since 2012.
I find this my work is very rewarding, especially when a child or young person reaches a goal that you have helped them to achieve. I think the work of our team is very important, it can help bring people together and we work with local people to build better, safer communities.
Hi, I’m Matt Sullivan and I am one of the Youth & Play workers here at Groundwork Greater Nottingham. After running a local Youth Football team for several years, and studying Sports at college I started working for Groundwork almost 3 Years ago, starting as a Games Ambassador which involved me organising and hosting Community Games activities, and events for people of all ages. In that role, I gained a lot of experience working with Young People, which has been invaluable in preparing me for Youth & Play work.
I enjoy my job, I find it exciting that no two days are ever the same and it is a real pleasure supporting so many different young people.
