Positive Activities For Young People
(Also Known as the Y.O.L.O. Project)

Our Y.O.L.O. project provides a mix of regular evening, and more intensive school holiday provision which runs in three areas of the city; The Meadows, St Ann’s and Bilborough.  The project aims to engage young people in trying new activities and learning new skills as the premise is ‘You Only Live Once’, and through doing so aims to raise engagement and aspirations, and support each young person taking part to gain an accreditation to help recognise their achievements.

Project duration: 1 year

Funders: Nottingham City Council Via Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures

Areas of work: St Anns, Bilborough and The Meadows

Age group: 11- 19 years old

Type of work: Project based youth work.

Project aims:

  • To provide positive, fun and engaging activities for young people
  • To focus on provision for young people affected most by high levels of deprivation
  • To provide young people with activities during school holiday periods
  • To support young people to makepositive personal progressions
  • To Support young people to achieve accredited outcomes
  • To support young people to commit to regular attendance at activity

Some of the activities we have undertaken with the groups include: Team building workshops, away days, community awareness, gang awareness, personal development workshops, activity challenges, crafts, sports, games, Cooking and healthy eating, drama, and film making.
